Welcome in the Noordoostpolder!
Every spring, the tulip fields colour the Northeast Polder in every shade you can imagine. During the Tulip Festival, you discover these fields via specially created routes. By car or by bike. So you can experience the tulips at your own pace.
The Tulip Festival Noordoostpolder takes place from April 17 till May 3, 2026.
How to get to the Noordoostpolder
The Noordoostpolder is centrally located in the Netherlands and is easily accessible.
By car
The tulip routes are designed for car traffic and clearly signposted. Parking is available along the routes at designated locations. Always follow the signs and instructions.
By bike
For those who really want to experience the polder landscape, there are beautiful cycling routes along the tulip fields. Peaceful, spacious, and ideal for a day outdoors.
By public transport
Travel by train to Lelystad or Meppel and then transfer to the bus heading for the Noordoostpolder. Please take into account additional travel time to the routes themselves.

Practical tips for your visit
Always stay on the paths and respect the tulip fields.
Do not pick tulips (this is allowed in the Tulip Picking Garden)
Be mindful of farmers and work traffic
Take your trash with you
Keep your distance from the fields and enjoy the view quietly
