With the Digital Tulip Experience, the Tulip Festival Noordoostpolder brings this story closer to the visitor. 

Through the Tulip Festival app, audio tours, educational films, and stories on our website, you'll not only discover where the tulips are located, but also the history, knowledge, craftsmanship, and collaboration behind the fields.

With the free app, you can follow car and cycling routes and listen to stories along the way about the former Zuiderzee, the creation of the Noordoostpolder, Flevoland agriculture, and the work of local growers. 

The Story of Flevoland

At various locations, QR codes provide access to short educational films, turning a drive or bike ride through the tulip fields into an introduction to the Story of Flevoland.

The Digital Tulip Experience aligns with The Story of Flevoland. Within the storyline Rich in flavour and colour Let's see how agriculture, landscape and entrepreneurship come together. 

At the same time, the Noordoostpolder tells the story of Flevoland as new land: made from water and built with vision, cooperation, and courage.

During the route, you will hear and see stories about:

  • The creation of the Noordoostpolder
  • The former Zuiderzee bed
  • the work and craftsmanship of the tulip grower
  • The development of the tulip, from bulb to bloom

With the free Tulip Festival app, you can follow the car and bike routes and listen to stories about the polder, tulip cultivation and the people behind the fields along the way.
