CREIL - The first tulips for the Tulip Festival Noordoostpolder 2026 are in the ground. Despite a lot of rain in recent weeks, it was finally the right time to plant. Group 8 of primary school The Field Flower from Creil enthusiastically helped with this.
On the plot for the Tulip Experience Field near Creil, the students, under the guidance of grower Jordi van Meer (Firma van Meer), laid out the new design of the selfie field. This year, it consists of a large “I ❤️ 🌷”, clearly reflecting the Tulip Festival logo. A message that will soon be seen in full bloom in spring. The children listened attentively to the explanation and then set to work as a close-knit team.
The selfie field is a popular part of the Tulip Festival. Visitors can take photos there among the tulips, sharing the experience of the festival in an accessible way. With the new design, the organisation aims to further enhance this experience.
The construction of the field marks another important step towards the 2026 edition, which focuses on cooperation, education and hospitality. The involvement of local schools fits in perfectly with this.
The Tulip Festival attracts thousands of visitors from home and abroad every year. With vast fields, the famous car route, the Tulip Experience Field, the Tulip Species Garden, the Tulip Flight Route and numerous activities, the festival showcases the agricultural strength and hospitality of the Northeast Polder.
