Tulip festival Noordoostpolder

Collaboration strengthens the visibility of the Noordoostpolder during the Tulip Festival

The Noordoostpolder will soon be in bloom again, and this year it won't just be visible in the fields, but also along the roads and in joint initiatives. A new collaboration between Tulpenfestival Noordoostpolder and Gemaakt in dé Noordoostpolder will ensure the region's story is shared more broadly and consistently.

Three advertising columns will appear along one of the main roads through Emmeloord this spring, showcasing both the Tulip Festival Noordoostpolder and Made in the Noordoostpolder. This will not only draw attention to the festival, but also to the broader story of the region in which it takes place.

A place with a tale

The Noordoostpolder is not an obvious landscape. Less than a century ago, this was water. What followed was one of the largest land reclamation projects in the Netherlands, creating new land that today provides space for agriculture, industry, and recreation.

The layering makes the area interesting for a broad audience. From innovative agricultural businesses to a growing manufacturing industry, and from those seeking peace and quiet to tourists discovering the area through events such as the Tulip Festival. Locations like Schokland, the Waterloopbos and the characteristic villages give extra meaning to the landscape.

Tulips as a connecting factor

The Tulip Festival plays a clear role in this. Every year, the blooming fields attract visitors from home and abroad. At the same time, the festival offers a platform to showcase more than just the flowers.

The collaboration with "Gemaakt in de Noordoostpolder" (Made in the Noordoostpolder) strengthens that story. The tulip fields form the visual starting point, but behind them lies a region with history, innovation, and a strong community.

Joint promotion and visibility

A tangible part of the collaboration is the development of a calendar, featuring images from the Tulip Festival. This calendar builds upon a previous initiative that couldn't be continued due to changes in the organisation. By revisiting this, the selected photographs will finally receive the visibility they deserve.

In addition, the joint roadside expressions ensure extra visibility towards both residents and visitors. The goal is clear: to position the Noordoostpolder as an area where living, working, and visiting come together.

Regional involvement

The collaboration is actively supported by Stichting Gemaakt in dé Noordoostpolder and aligns with the broader ambition to position the Noordoostpolder as an attractive place to live and work, as well as an innovative manufacturing region.

The foundation works to connect initiatives that together make the region's character visible. The emphasis is not only on the landscape and history, but also on the strength of the manufacturing industry, technological development, and the deep-rooted entrepreneurship found here.

The combination of space, innovation, and a practical mindset makes the Noordoostpolder distinctive. By more strongly connecting these elements to existing attractions such as the Tulip Festival, a more complete story emerges of an area where it is not only good to live and work, but where there is also continuous innovation, and where visitors are invited to experience it for themselves.

Outlook

This collaboration marks another step in the positioning of the Noordoostpolder. The Tulips Festival Noordoostpolder remains an important moment in the year, but is increasingly becoming part of a broader story. A story that starts with colourful fields but goes beyond that. About an area that is still developing and where space, history, and innovation come together.
